Freshman DE for Michigan State reportedly enters transfer portal

Michigan State has one freshman reportedly entering the transfer portal this weekend ahead of the B1G home opener.
According to Rainer Sabin with the Detroit Free Press, the Spartans have seen defensive end Alex Okelo enter the transfer portal. The 6-foot-5 defensive end has yet to see a snap this year.

According to the industry-generated composite rankings, Okelo was a 3-star prospect out of Nashville, Tennessee. He was the No. 57 edge prospect nationally for the class of 2021.
Head coach Mel Tucker has things trending in the right direction heading into Saturday’s game with Nebraska, and it will be interesting to see if Okelo does indeed decide to move on.
