One of the best moments in college football is when a harding working walk-on earns a scholarship. Entering Week 8 of the season, an Ohio State freshman linebacker is getting bestowed that distinction.

Jackson Kuwatch is shedding his black stripe and is officially a member of the program, Ohio State announced on its Twitter account:

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Kuwatch is an Ohio native from Cincinnati. Kuwatch was a First-Team All-GMC and the Southwest Ohio Defensive Player of the Year while in high school.ย Kuwatch amassed 53 tackles and two sacks en route to earning first-team All-Ohio during his senior season in high school.

No. 5 Ohio State is currently tied for second with No. 6 Michigan behind No. 9 Michigan State in the B1G East. Ohio State is coming off a bye week and will travel to face Indiana on Oct. 23 (7:30 p.m. EST/ABC).

Ohio State leads the all-time series 76-12-5 vs. Indiana. Ohio State has a 25-game winning streak vs. Indiana. Indianaโ€™s last victory vs. Ohio State in the series dates back to 1988.
