It’s crazy to write this but the college football season has reached its midpoint. It’s sad, but here we are.

On Monday, USA Today’s Paul Myerberg released his midseason All-America team, and a couple B1G players made the list. Four, to be exact.

The conference had one offensive player, which I bet you can’t guess, and three on the defensive side. Here are the B1G players that Myerberg tabbed as All-Americans:

  • Saquon Barkley, Penn State RB
  • Maurice Hurst, Michigan DL
  • Josey Jewell, Iowa LB
  • Grant Haley, Penn State DB

Barkley is the obvious choice at running back, as he’s one of the leaders in the Heisman race at this point in the year.

While Hurst doesn’t have that many sacks this year, his burst off the ball and ability to create pressure behind the line of scrimmage is a primary reason why Michigan’s rebuilt defense ranks first in the FBS in yards allowed per game and second in yards allowed per play.

Jewell leads the B1G in tackles, posting 70 stops through the first six games. And with Haley, is the best defensive back from a Penn State defense that has only allowed three touchdown passes this season.

All four players are solid choices for All-Americans. To see Myerberg’s full midseason team, you can view it here.
