Wisconsin QB Graham Mertz may be one of Wisconsin’s best recruiters already.
Mertz recruited the former 5-foot-11, 204-pound Clemson RB Chez Mellusi to come and transfer to Wisconsin this summer.
Mertz had a pretty good sales pitch for recruiting Mellusi over the summer to play for the Badgers. Mertz asked if Mellusi wanted to play behind big and strong guys who would open up gaps for him. According to Jeff Potrykus of the milwaukee journal sentinel.
#Badgers Graham Mertz to Chez Mellusi in June: “You want to run behind big, strong guys who are going to move guys out of the way + open up gaps for you? It’s a no-brainer. Where else would you want to go? Get here and get the playbook going. He was all-in.”

Mellusi played for 2 seasons with the Clemson Tigers as he racked up 427 yards rushing on 6 yards per carry and 6 touchdowns for the Tigers. He also had 1 receiving touchdown in his career with the Tigers.
Wisconsin last season finished 4-3 with a win over Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo bowl. They had 3 games canceled due to Covid-19.
The Badgers open the season with B1G opponent Penn State on Saturday, Sept 4.
