Wisconsin’s offense hasn’t had much difficulty reaching the end zone recently, but that doesn’t mean it can’t get some help from the defense every now and then. On Saturday afternoon, the Badgers secondary stepped up in a big way.

Wisconsin’s Scott Nelson came up with a momentum-shifting interception early in the second quarter, returning it to the end zone. It was the Badgers’ first touchdown of the afternoon.

Nelson’s touchdown gave Wisconsin a 10-3 lead in the first half.

That was Nelson’s fourth career interception and his first of the year. He has recorded 6 pass break-ups through the first 11 games of the season, though.

Wisconsin is looking to clinch a B1G West title and a trip to Indianapolis with a win. The pick-6 from Nelson seemed to give the Badgers a much-needed spark.
