Despite the reports and concerns about Monday’s National Championship Game between Ohio State and Alabama being pushed back a week, it sounds as if the show will go on.

Friday, AL.com’s John Talty reported that both Alabama and Ohio State successfully made it through their final COVID-19 testing procedures ahead of the title game. That means the game will go on as scheduled. Kickoff is set for Monday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET.

Earlier in the week, multiple reports surfaced that Ohio State was battling COVID-19 concerns and might have to delay the game for one week. The College Football Playoff had set a make-up date for Monday, Jan. 18 in the event of a postponement.

Ohio State reached the national title game after defeated Clemson 49-28 in the Sugar Bowl. It was a rematch of last year’s Fiesta Bowl, a game the Tigers defeated the Buckeyes in to advance to the championship game a year ago.

Alabama had little trouble with Notre Dame in a 31-14 victory to reach the championship contest.

Both Ohio State (7-0) and Alabama (12-0) are undefeated this season.
