We’ve seen plenty of original College GameDay signs over the years. Some are funny and some are offensive. We’ll see plenty of  that variety when College GameDay comes to Columbus this weekend for the showdown between Michigan State and Ohio State.

Rarely, however, are GameDay signs touching.

A young Ohio State fan battling leukemia came up with this inspiring sign for his beloved Buckeyes:

The boy in the photo is named Joshua, which is fitting. Joshua has had interactions with the Buckeyes, including his favorite player, Joshua Perry. As you can see from his Twitter account, he got the chance to meet and interact with the star linebacker.

Joshua’s “Be Brave” mission is also based on the Bible verse Joshua 1:9, which reads, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua’s family created a support site set up for his cause, where you can also read and learn more about his battle with leukemia.

In the meantime, Joshua has a battle he wants to see his Buckeyes win.
