Garett Wilson is off to a strong start in his NFL Career. The former Ohio State Buckeye was named Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of Week 2.

Wilson had a day for the New York Jets against the Cleveland Browns with 8 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Jets took Wilson with the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He has been a big help for quarterback Joe Flacco, who was pushed into the starting role after Zach Wilson suffered a bone bruise and meniscus tear in the preseason.

He had a huge junior season at Ohio State with 70 catches for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns. Overall, Wilson finished his Buckeye career with 143 receptions for 2,213 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Wilson’s early NFL success is a welcome to Jets fans. The franchise has not had a winning season since 2015. You have to go back another five years for another winning record in 2010.

Could Wilson turn the Jets into a perennial winner? So far, the return has been good.

New York faces the struggling Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in the Meadowlands.
