Cincinnati’s bid for a perfect season came to an end in heartbreaking fashion against Georgia.
On New Year’s Day, the Bearcats and Bulldogs met in the Chickfila Peach Bowl, and for much of the game, Cincinnati appeared on its way to a win. Luke Fickell’s squad carried a 21-10 lead into the fourth quarter, but Kirby Smart’s squad did not fold.
The Bulldogs rallied in the fourth with some clutch defensive stops and a crucial turnover to pull within 21-19 with under two minutes to go. After getting the ball back, quarterback J.T. Daniels led Georgia down the field, but he was unable to get into easy field goal range for kicker Jack Podlesny.
It left Podlesny with a huge 53-yard attempt with the game on the line. Here’s how that kick turned out:

Absolute money from Podlesny as he nails a new career-best to lift the Bulldogs. He finished the day 3-for-3 on field goals, including the game-winner, and added an extra point to account for 10 total points in the comeback win.
