Elite 2016 QB switches commitment from Oregon to Minnesota

Seth Green is going back to his roots.
The Woodbury, Minnesota native left his home state before his senior year of high school for Texas, and was set to join Scott Frost’s offense at Oregon next year.
But Frost took the head coaching job at UCF, which meant Green also made a switch. That switch was to come back home to Minnesota and join Tracy Claeys.
He announced that decision on Sunday night.

The announcement came a week after he made an official visit to Minneapolis.
Green originally chose Oregon over Michigan State and Minnesota. But the Ducks also had two quarterbacks signed for the 2016 class. That, plus the departure of Frost, led to Green’s Minnesota commitment.
He’ll be following in the footsteps of his father, Bryan, who was a Gopher running back in 1991.
Green is the 11th-ranked dual threat quarterback in the 2016 class. According to 247sports, he’s the third-highest ranked player in Minnesota’s incoming freshman class.
The Gophers currently boast the 32nd-ranked 2016 class and are seventh in the B1G.
