Greg Gard aware of challenges Colgate presents in Wisconsin’s first-round matchup

Wisconsin might be a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but Greg Gard and the Badgers aren’t taking No. 14 seed Colgate lightly.
After earning a share of the B1G regular season title, Wisconsin heads into March Madness as a No. 3 seed. With one of the best players in the game — Johnny Davis — many think the Badgers are capable of making a deep run. It starts on Friday with a matchup against Colgate.
Gard says he’s impressed with their veteran team, which shoots the ball well and is very unselfish. It’s a disciplined squad that will present plenty of challenges for Wisconsin’s defense.

Colgate has the nation’s second-best 3-point shooting team this season, connecting on 40.3% of shots from behind the 3-point line. It also has the No. 11 assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.52.
Wisconsin is going to have to be disciplined defensively.
The Badgers have superior talent and have proven capable of beating quality teams throughout the season. Still, this is March and anything can happen.
Wisconsin and Colgate are scheduled for a 9:50 p.m. ET tip-off time on TBS.
