This is one of the most hotly-debated College Football Playoff selections in the short history of the system.

With three teams locking their spots in a semifinal matchup — Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame — three others are vying for one final bid. Will it be Georgia, Oklahoma or Ohio State? Or, potentially, someone else?

ESPN asked its college football experts to make their predictions for the four-team field. And while there was some disagreement among the final spot, everyone seemed to agree on one thing: the Buckeyes shouldn’t be in.

Well, everyone except Greg McElroy.

Out of the 52 “experts” providing their College Football Playoff predictions, McElroy was the only one to include the Buckeyes in the mix. Even UCF received more votes.

The Buckeyes finished the season 12-1 with a B1G title. The Sooners are also 12-1 and claimed a Big XII crown. It’s hard to imagine Ohio State leapfrogging Oklahoma for the final spot, but ESPN’s Playoff Predictor gave Ohio State a 71 percent chance to make the field, which was 50 points higher than Oklahoma.

Sunday will be interesting. But there’s clearly not a lot of faith in Ohio State making the field.
