Greg McElroy talked about some of the best players from around the country at this point in the season on ‘Always College Football’. He discussed B1G running backs who have been killing it so far.

McElroy liked three running backs from the B1G: Chase Brown, Blake Corum, and Mohamed Ibrahim.

Brown has been setting the tone for the Illinois offense. His play last game put him over the 1,000 yards rushing mark for the season. He should not only be in the All-American conversation, but for the Heisman Trophy as well.

“The only back so far to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark,” said McElroy. “Chase Brown’s been absolutely awesome this year.”

Corum is another B1G RB who deserves to be in the Heisman Trophy talk. He has the second-most yards rushing in the conference with 901 and he also has 13 touchdowns. Corum fits the mold of a Jim Harbaugh offense perfectly.

“I’m not sure you can think of a better workhouse for what they want to do,” said McElroy.

Last but not least was Ibrahim. Minnesota saw how important he was to the offense after he missed some time due to injury. In Minnesota’s loss to Illinois he had 127 yards rushing and 1 touchdown.

“I’m not sure you can complete a list without mentioning what (Ibrahim) has done,” said McElroy. “Look at how (the Gophers) played against Purdue (without him).”

It’s safe to say that the B1G is loaded with tons of RB talent this season.
