Greg McElroy provides the one problem he sees for Ohio State entering 2022

Greg McElroy knows Ohio State is good, but if the Buckeyes want to reach their ultimate goal of a national championship, a few areas need to be improved in 2022.
While a lot of attention has been made to new DC and Jim Knowles’ work with the defense, McElroy highlighted a different area as a problem for the Buckeyes. He sees an offensive line that needs to man up and be more physical this season.
“Here’s the problem I have with Ohio State: I don’t think they’re very physical. I think they’ve gotten less physical over time,” said McElroy on his Always College Football podcast for ESPN. “And I hope there’s been a challenge issued from Ryan Day to his offensive line because those guys look the part. They’re the prettiest looking offensive line maybe in North America…
“And then you watch them, and it’s like why don’t they push anyone around? It’s borderline frustrating… I have my concerns about them being able to just maul opposing teams.”
The offensive firepower for Ohio State is able to mask a number of issues from time to time, but the ground game is an area that could improve in 2022. Especially with TreVeyon Henderson in the backfield, the Buckeyes have a chance to churn out a more balanced approach this season.
If Ryan Day wants his squad to reach the ultimate goal this season, he’ll need the offensive line clearing the way throughout the year.
