Greg Newsome II is gearing up for his rookie season with the Cleveland Browns, and he showed off his ball skills during Thursday’s practice.
In a joint workout with the New York Giants, Cleveland was trying to end the practice on a high note with New York running a 2-minute drill on offense. That drill did not last long before Newsome ended it.
New York’s starting quarterback Daniel Jones dropped back and threw an out route, but he did not account for Newsome. Newsome cut in front of the intended receiver for a clean interception, securing it and ending the practice in the process.

Newsome was selected by Cleveland with the 26th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Incredibly, Newsome finished his Northwestern career with just 1 interception as B1G QBs quickly learned not to test him. He did post 20 passes defended as a Wildcat with 71 career tackles.
