Gus Johnson joined FOX Sports broadcast partner Joel Klatt to review their working relationship, and some of the iconic calls Johnson has delivered in the last 8 years.

Johnson, who said he wants to be engaged and plugged in, started by saying that he doesn’t really pay attention to his calls. “It just kind of comes out of my mouth,” Johnson said.

While Johnson downplayed the “call” nature of his job and how it sounds to fans and the audience, he admitted to remembering people. He then referred to Oklahoma’s DJ Graham making a one-handed leaping interception against Nebraska.

Klatt then shared his favorites, including a Hollywood Brown touchdown at Oklahoma when Johnson said, “Hollywood Brown! Lights, camera, action, Hollywood Brown, 58 yards.”

Johnson referred to JK Dobbins and how much he missed the Ohio State running back when he left.

“I loved that kid, what a story,” Johnson said.

Klatt then pivoted to their first game working together, Michigan at Utah, and how they’ve developed on-air chemistry. Klatt shared advice Johnson gave him minutes before that game.

“Remember,” Klatt recalled Johnson saying. “You hit the singles. I hit the home runs.”
