Gus Johnson is known for his legendary calls, and Denzel Burke gave him a chance to unload one of his favorites.

Burke delivered a hit stick to stop Maryland on a short gain: “He in the kitchen,” Johnson said on the FOX broadcast. And broadcast partner Joel Klatt knew exactly where Johnson was headed next.

“Reminds me of a kid named Denzel Ward,” Johnson said. “YOU GOT BBQ BACK THERE AND DIDN’T INVITE ME? HURT. MY. FEELINGS… NUMBER TWO. … Let’s see if that fires up this Ohio State defense.”

The Buckeyes certainly needed a jolt as they trailed in the first half, and pulled into a tie with the Terrapins at halftime.

It immediately brought back memories of Johnson’s call of former Ohio State star Denzel Ward’s similar mega-hit also against Maryland.
