Hall of Fame punter Ray Guy, widely considered one of the greatest punters who ever lived, passed away Thursday morning after a lengthy battle with an illness. He was just 73.

Guy played for Southern Miss before excelling with the Oakland Raiders in the NFL.

Guy was the first punter ever selected in the first round of the NFL draft to the Raiders in the 1973 NFL Draft.  He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame and NFL Hall of Fame in 2014.

Rest in peace to a legend of the game.
