Northwestern’s spring practice will be moving forward without a few prominent names this year. A handful of Wildcats will be sidelined during the spring season, as the team looks to start fueling a bounce-back season in 2020.
Tuesday, Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune reported that a few prominent players will miss spring practice after undergoing surgeries during the offseason. Five names surfaced after media met with head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
Running backs Jesse Brown and Isaiah Bowser, quarterback TJ Green, defensive back JR Pace and offensive tackle Gunnar Vogal will all miss spring practice this year. No timetable on their return was mentioned in the tweet from Greenstein.

Northwestern is coming off a 3-9 campaign in 2019, finishing with just one win in B1G play. That season came one year after the Wildcats won their first B1G West title and played for a conference championship in 2018.
Last season Northwestern recorded its lowest win total of the Fitzgerald era, and marked just the fourth time in his 14 seasons as head coach that the program did not finish the regular season with a .500 record or better.
