The countdown is on.

As soon as the score was final from Columbus in Ohio State’s 56-7 drubbing of Michigan State, the attention shifted to “That Team Up North.” And there’s a lot at stake with the Buckeyes and Wolverines both entering the game at 10-1.

For the winner, a trip to Indianapolis and a chance to win a B1G title is the reward. The loser will be stuck at home, watching the game from the sofa.

Shortly after Saturday’s game in Columbus, Ohio State’s social media team properly prepared for next weekend’s rivalry bout with Michigan. A tweet of the Countdown Clock was posted and all “Ms” were replaced with a big red “X.”

Both are annual traditions this time of year.

Ohio State has won 8 straight meetings against its hated rival with Michigan’s last victory coming 2011. The Buckeyes and Wolverines did not play in 2020 because of COVID-19 issues.

“The Game” is always one of the most intense rivalry matchups in all of sports. It only intensifies when a division title is at stake. It should be an incredibly fun day in Ann Arbor.
