Heather Dinich is not counting on Ohio State to make the College Football Playoff  if it loses to Michigan on Saturday in The Game.

The CFP insider believes there are too many good contenders in the race for the CFP this season for a 1-loss Ohio State team to reach the Playoff. Last year, the Buckeyes were able to sneak in after USC lost to Utah, but this year, Dinich believes there will be several teams that can jump Ohio State if it can’t win The Game.

“I would give them a slim chance, Greeny, because this is the blueprint that got them in last year, without beating Michigan and winning the Big Ten,” Dinich said on Get Up on Tuesday. “The difference last year, Greeny, was that USC on Friday night was a No. 4, lost to Utah and dropped out. This year, there are so many other contenders. Washington, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State is still in consideration even without Jordan Travis until proven otherwise. So it is going to be much more difficult for any conference to have a team finish in the top 4 that doesn’t win its division or its (conference) championship. And it’s going to be very difficult for any conference to get 2 teams in as we sit here right now without chaos.”

The Buckeyes are looking for a big win on Saturday in what should be another exciting edition of The Game. Michigan has won the last 2 years, but Ohio State is looking to get back in the win column in a game that has plenty of implications.
