Kirk Herbstreit has kept Penn State in his top four rankings after Week 6, but the Nittany Lions caught a little disrespect from the ESPN college football analyst.

Last week, Herbstreit had Penn State firmly in at the No. 4 spot just behind Oklahoma. After the Sooners’ loss to Iowa State this past weekend, that No.3 spot was open for the taking.

Instead of moving Penn State up, the Nittany Lions got leapfrogged.

Herbstreit moved Georgia to the No. 3 spot as Penn State remains No. 4. Alabama and Clemson have been locks in the first two spots most of the year.

Coming in at fifth and sixth are Washington and TCU.

Penn State is coming off an impressive 31-7 win over Northwestern in Evanston and currently sits at 6-0 on the season. Georgia clobbered Vanderbilt 45-14 on Saturday in Nashville.

The Nittany Lions will have an excellent opportunity to move up in Herbstreit’s top four in the next few weeks. After a bye this week, Penn State hosts No. 17 Michigan before traveling for a pair of road trips against No. 9 Ohio State and No. 21 Michigan State.
