With Joe Buck leaving Fox for ESPN to commentate Monday Night Football, he will no longer be the voice of the World Series or MLB games in general. Now, Fox has revealed who will be replacing Buck.
A different Joe will be commentating baseball on Fox. It’ll be Joe Davis from now on per Alek Arend of The Spun. Longtime Atlanta Braves pitcher will still be in the booth, and will be joined by Davis. Davis will also be commentating on the Field of Dreams Game, MLB All-Star Game, and World Series.
Here is what Davis had to say about his new position with Fox Sports per a press release:
“If you had asked me when I was 10 what I wanted to do when I grew up, I would’ve told you ‘Call the World Series,” said Davis. “So when I say this is a dream-come-true, I really mean it. One of the best parts about this is the team I get to work with. Obviously Smoltzy…I’ve had a blast getting to know John and building such a comfort together in the booth these last few years. He, Kenny and Tom along with our producer Pete Macheska and director Matt Gangl are all superstars – the absolute best at what they do. They’ve been so welcoming to me through the years as I’ve worked more and more with their group. It’s all about the people you’re with, and I’m really lucky in that regard.”
Davis will commentate on his 1st MLB game for the Network on May 28.
