Indiana coach Tom Allen covered a lot of ground in the postgame press conference following the Hoosiers’ 24-0 win over Michigan State.

First, Allen expressed some concern for his son who was carted off with a “serious” leg injury during the game.

As far as the rest of the team’s performance, Allen was pleased. He said getting a shutout was “special” and was very happy to get four takeaways on the day.

Another result of the win? The Hoosiers get a trophy. Indiana will get possession of the Old Brass Spittoon for the first time since 2016.

Allen emphasized that winning their “Trophy games” is a major goal.

Offensive lineman Caleb Jones did not play in the game, but Allen declined to say why.

Indiana is 4-0 and technically in sole possession of first place in the Big Ten East. Next week, the Hoosiers will travel to Columbus to face Ohio State (3-0) in a game that could be a de-facto division championship game.
