Here’s what Clayton Thorson was doing just minutes before leading Northwestern to a division title

It appears Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson may have been battling more than just the Hawkeyes defense Saturday.
By most accounts, Thorson was not playing his best game against Iowa. He completed just 15-of-30 passes for 122 yards and was picked off twice. However, he came up when his team needed him with a clutch 32-yard touchdown strike to Bennet Skowronek.
It is possible Thorson just had an off night throwing the ball. However, a report by Teddy Greenstein indicated Thorson may have been battling an illness Saturday.
Greenstein reported that Thorson was throwing up just minutes before kickoff. Greenstein did not provide any indication on what could have been wrong, but he did say that it was more than just nerves getting to the QB:
Just learned that Clayton Thorson threw up 4 min before kickoff … and not from nerves. The Flu Game?#Northwestern
