Here’s what Tom Izzo said after Michigan State’s huge victory over Indiana
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo was in a great mood following the Spartans’ 78-71 win over Indiana.
Michigan State scored a whopping 52 points in the second half thanks to an incredibly efficient stretch after half time. The Spartans shot 56.7 percent from the field and 86.7 percent from the free throw line.
The result? 52 points on just 30 shots in the second half.
Aaron Henry led the way, tying his career high with 27 points.
This win puts the Spartans within striking distance being in the NCAA Tournament conversation. They’re still on the outside-looking-in, but a victory over Illinois or Ohio State next week would go a long way toward helping their case. They also still have two games remaining vs. Michigan.
After the win, Izzo talked addressed the team’s fight in the second half. Indiana had a 30-26 advantage going into the break.
MSU coach Tom Izzo: "We kept grinding. We kept working on it." Says Langford "set the tempo" in helping MSU's offense "being as connected as we could be."

Izzo also cracked a joke when asked about taking this fall early on in the game:
Izzo on this play: "I was ticked off at the officials. They didn't call a charge. I didn't move or anything." https://t.co/WgHlwotRBH
