Here’s where 9 B1G teams currently sit in Joe Lunardi’s bracket projection

Selection Sunday is just over four weeks away, which means NCAA Tournament résumés are starting to come into focus.
As it stands today, the Big Ten would have nine teams in the field of 68 according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.
Here’s a look at his latest projection of Big Ten teams, which updated on Friday morning:
- Ohio State: No. 1 seed
- Michigan: No. 1 seed
- Illinois: No. 2 seed
- Iowa: No. 4 seed
- Wisconsin: No. 4 seed
- Purdue: No. 6 seed
- Rutgers: No. 6 seed
- Minnesota: No. 9 seed
- Indiana: No. 10 seed
Additionally, Lunardi has two Big Ten teams who are currently on the wrong side of the bubble: Penn State and Maryland. Both are listed as “Next Four Out” teams.
With 11 teams in position to potentially make the NCAA Tournament, the Big Ten has a great argument for deepest conference in the nation.
It will be interesting to see how the landscape unfolds over the next month. While Illinois has been surging, Iowa has been falling and Michigan hasn’t played since Jan. 22 due to COVID-19. There’s still lots of movement expected before the Big Ten Tournament begins on March 10.
