Here’s where BracketMatrix projects every B1G team less than 5 weeks before Selection Sunday

The Big Ten is still projected to send 10 teams to the NCAA Tournament this March.
That’s according to BracketMatrix.com, which is a site that aggregates projections from the most accurate bracketologists in the country.
There’s well over 100 projections included in the formula, and it can often be more accurate than ESPN’s Joe Lunardi (who is not ranked amongst the top 50 most accurate bracketologists over the last five years, per the site).
Here’s every Big Ten team and where they’re seeded as of Monday:
- Ohio State, No. 1 seed
- Michigan, No. 1 seed
- Illinois, No. 2 seed
- Iowa, No. 3 seed
- Wisconsin, No. 4 seed
- Purdue, No. 6 seed
- Rutgers, No. 7 seed
- Minnesota, No. 9 seed
- Indiana, No. 11 seed
- Maryland, No. 12 seed
Penn State and Michigan State are receiving some votes, but they’re firmly on the outside looking in with just over five weeks to go. Northwestern and Nebraska were also not included.
Michigan is still slotted in as a No. 1 seed despite not playing since Jan. 22 due to COVID-19. The Wolverines are currently scheduled to play again on Sunday, Feb. 14 against Wisconsin.
With Iowa in a tailspin (lost four of five games), it appears the Buckeyes, Wolverines and Illini are the conferences’ best shot at earning a No. 1 seed. Baylor and Gonzaga are virtual locks to make the top seed line, but the other two spots are up for grabs.
Selection Sunday is on March 14.
