With a little more than four weeks remaining before Selection Sunday, the Big Ten is in position to send at least nine teams to the NCAA Tournament.

According to KenPom.com, the Big Ten has four teams in the top seven nationally, as well as 11 teams in the top 45.

A couple of those squads are still on the bubble, but there’s still plenty of time to improve their résumé.

Here’s where KenPom ranks every Big Ten team heading into the weekend:

  • No. 3 Michigan
  • No. 4 Illinois
  • No. 5 Iowa
  • No. 7 Ohio State
  • No. 12 Wisconsin
  • No. 24 Purdue
  • No. 26 Rutgers
  • No. 27 Indiana
  • No. 30 Penn State
  • No. 36 Minnesota
  • No. 44 Maryland
  • No. 65 Michigan State
  • No. 71 Northwestern
  • No. 129 Nebraska

Penn State’s ranking at No. 30 is significant for its NCAA Tournament hopes. The Nittany Lions were left out of Joe Lunardi’s latest bracket projection on Friday, as was Maryland.

Still, Lunardi had nine teams making the Big Dance, which was easily the most of any conference. At this point, only three teams are without hope of making it to March Madness: Michigan State, Northwestern and Nebraska.

Michigan is expected to return to action on Sunday vs. Wisconsin after a long hiatus due to COVID-19. The Wolverines haven’t played since Jan. 22.

Illinois and Nebraska continue the Big Ten’s season on Friday night at 8 p.m. CT.

Selection Sunday is on March 14.
