The Big Ten football slate for Week 1 is in the books. With a lot of teams from the conference playing tradition early season “cupcake” opponents, there weren’t a ton of close games, but there certainly were a lot of big performances.

Purdue was the lone Big Ten team to lose to a non-Power 5 opponent, but in the losing effort, Boilermakers quarterback Elijah Sindelar threw for 423 yards, which was 80 more yards than any other Big Ten signal caller in Week 1.

Rutgers had a fantastic all-around offensive performance against UMass on Friday night, so the Scarlet Knights have at least one player on all three of our Big Ten offensive leaders lists. Rutgers running back Isaih Pacheco led the conference in rushing during Week 1 with 156 yards on the ground.

On Thursday, Minnesota opened the Big Ten season with a home matchup against South Dakota State. Golden Gophers receiver Rashod Batement led the way in the victory with 132 receiving yards, which was the most for anyone in the Big Ten on opening weekend.
