Everyone dreams of filling out the perfect March Madness bracket. That accomplishment might be as rare — if not more so — than a hole-in-one in golf or pitching a perfect game in baseball. Most of our hopes are dashed after the first few games of the NCAA Tournament.
But for Gregg Nigl of Ohio, the goal of picking every NCAA Tournament game correctly is still a possibility. Through the first 48 games of the tourney, Nigl has selected the winner of every matchup correctly.
So, if you believe in his success so far, you might also be wondering what his Sweet Sixteen picks are for games on Thursday and Friday. Here’s who Nigl has winning the next eight games:
Gonzaga def. Florida State
Tennessee def. Purdue
Michigan def. Texas Tech
Virginia def. Oregon
Michigan State def. LSU
North Carolina def. Auburn
Duke def. Virginia Tech
Kentucky def. Houston
Nigl has two B1G teams — Michigan and Michigan State — moving on, while picking Tennessee over Purdue. Overall, he doesn’t see any upsets coming this round, picking the better seed in all eight games.
Of the millions of brackets filled out across the country, Nigl is the only one with a perfect score. We’ll see if he’s still got that title after this week.
