As the Michigan State Spartans kick off spring practices, they’re down a pair of defenders, according to news that broke on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Michigan State reporter Dan Murphy of ESPN, DL Kyonta Stallworth and DB Jalen Watts-Jackson were not with the team for the start of the 2018 spring session.
Murphy said coach Mark Dantonio was vague when asked if the players may rejoin the roster in the future:

When asked if those guys will have a chance to rejoin the roster, Dantonio said "we'll see." https://t.co/soPSr5hnfD

Watts-Jackson, of course, was the player who returned the botched/blocked punt for a touchdown against Michigan in 2015, leading to the wild victory.
Watts-Jackson didn’t record any stats last season, while Stallworth played in four games, recording 11 tackles.
