Michigan State commit Emoni Bates had quite the game last night for his high school and already looks ready to play in college.
247Sports rates him as the number one recruit in the country for the class of 2022 and he played like it last night as he had 36 points with 10 rebounds.
Bates’ school played against Chet Holmgren’s school, who 247Sports Composite ranking has as the number two player nationally for the 2021 class. Holmgren is not currently committed to a school.
Even with Bates going off, Holmgren’s school got the win as he had 31 points with 12 rebounds during the game.
Here are some of the highlights and reactions during the game:

Feels like Emoni Bates and Chet Holmgren would go 1 and 2 if they could enter this year’s NBA Draft.

We’ve witnessed two of the best high school prospects in Emoni Bates and Chet Holmgren tonight. In a year full of craziness, it was fun to watch a fun matchup like this one.
If there’s one thing we can take away from the matchup? The future of basketball is in amazing hands.

Emoni Bates is the best player regardless of class, he’d probably go number 1 this year, and Jaden Hardy to me is a close second, I’m aware they’re not in the same class, just high school in general

Emoni Bates is definitely better than Michael Porter Jr at the same stage. He does everything better except rebound. https://t.co/NT8P720E8m

Cade Cunningham, Chet Holmgren and Emoni Bates as back to back to back No. 1 picks is going to be a whole lot of fun.
