There was believed to be a divide with five-star defensive back Darnay Holmes and his family regarding his college choice.
According to multiple reports during the week, Holmes was favoring Ohio State but his family wanted him to stay local at one of the Los Angeles schools (UCLA or USC).
As it turned out, Holmes went with his family’s choice and picked UCLA during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Well, it wasn’t his ENTIRE family’s choice.
Holmes’ nephew pointed at the Ohio State hat before he made the choice, and was visibly upset after the Buckeyes weren’t picked:

Holmes’ nephew might’ve had a reaction that mirrored the Ohio State coaching staff. Fortunately for the Buckeyes, they still have the No. 2 overall class without Holmes.
Perhaps Urban Meyer should look into getting Holmes’ nephew to do a little more talking before National Signing Day.
