Home Sweet Home: Former MSU standout Darqueze Dennard donates renovated house to family with nine children

Former Michigan State and current Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Darqueze Dennard has shown his humanitarian side this week.
The Dennard Difference, a foundation started by the cornerback, along with the help of over 20 companies and organization, headed the Build a Place to Call Home project. The process started 18 months ago, but on Wednesday, the house was revealed to the family who will occupy the new home.
According to WLWT 5, the Dennard Difference worked with Turner Construction, Furniture Fair , Sherwin-Williams, Eye 4 Design and several other companies to demolish and then renovate a home.
The house was gifted to a family to a family with nine children, ranging in age from 4 to 18.
“A lot of people have helped me be the person I am today, and I know the type of effect it had on me becoming the person I am,” Dennard told WLWT 5 on why the project was so important. “They know the feeling, my sisters know the feeling, my family knows the feeling, and I know how it is to not have a house. I’m a living testimony that anything you want in life is possible.”
The renovated home featured new beds, dressers, living spaces and much more.
Dennard played at Michigan State from 2010-2013. He was a first-round draft pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He’s played his entire professional career with the Bengals.
