Former Ohio State safety Malik Hooker went from three-star recruit to first round NFL draft pick.

If the Buckeyes have it their way, his little brother will follow in those footsteps.

Marcus Hooker, the younger brother of Malik Hooker, announced his verbal commitment to Ohio State on Thursday:

The younger Hooker made that announcement a day after receiving an offer from the Buckeyes. The three-star cornerback is the No. 19 recruit in Pennsylvania and the No. 587 recruit overall in the 2018 class, according to the 247sports composite.

Hooker picked Ohio State instead of Cincinnati, Pitt, Rutgers and West Virginia.

The New Castle (Pa.) cornerback is one of just two three-star recruits in the Buckeyes’ 2018 class. Hooker was the second cornerback to join the class, which is already at 16 commitments.

Ohio State still has a firm hold on the No. 1 spot overall in the 247sports 2018 recruiting class team rankings.
