Being in the midwest sandwiched right next to each other, there are plenty of similarities to point to when it comes to comparing the states of Indiana and Ohio.

In 2020, one of the things these two states share is the fact they each have two undefeated top-10 college football teams. That led FOX College Football to ask: Which state has the better duo of top-tier college football teams?

Besides the teams being undefeated, there are plenty of more similarities between these two state’s top college teams. Indiana has Notre Dame, an established power, while Ohio has the Buckeyes, a school well-known for its success in college football.

On the other side of that, Indiana has the fast rising Hoosiers while Ohio has a Cincinnati team looking to break through as a non-Power 5 program.

Now, let’s break down the specifics of these four teams. We will start with the two teams in Indiana. The Hoosiers are in the top 10 for the first time in many years while sitting at 4-0. Indiana sports wins against Penn State and Michigan.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame is at 8-0 sitting at No. 2 in the polls. The Fighting Irish may have the best win of the season as they defeated Clemson last week.

On the other side, Ohio State is meeting its high preseason expectations and then some. The Buckeyes are off to a 3-0 start and would be 4-0 if not for a cancellation of this week’s game against Maryland.

Cincinnati has continued to climb in the polls are a perfect 6-0. The Bearcats now sit a No. 7 in the polls and could possibly be knocking on the door for a potential CFP spot.

While Notre Dame and Cincinnati are not scheduled to play during the regular season, Ohio State and Indiana are, and it’s next Saturday. That game will go a long way in deciding which state has the best pair of teams.
