When there are no fans in attendance at college football games, the microphones around the field are far more likely to pick up the comments coaches and players are making throughout the course of the contest. That was certainly the case during Saturday’s game between North Carolina and Boston College.

Saturday’s game was paused briefly after a Boston College player was injured. While Hafley tended to his player on the field, you could tell he was upset with North Carolina’s team.

“We’ve got a guy hurt, and they’re cheering,” Hafley yelled twice while on the field. And the microphone was able to pick it up. Below is the clip:

North Carolina was celebrating a big play and not so much that a player was injured. But, in that moment, Hafley wasn’t pleased.

The 12th-ranked Tar Heels received quite the scare from the Eagles, but were able to escape Chestnut Hill with a 26-22 victory.

Hafley is in his first season as the head coach at Boston College. He took the job after spending one season as the defensive coordinator at Ohio State.
