How Phil Steele is projecting teams will finish in the B1G in 2019

Everyone is getting in their preseason predictions. It’s the thing to do when football season is only a few weeks away.
College football preseason magazine guru Phil Steele is one of the many making picks for the 2019 campaign, breaking down where he believes each team will finish in each conference. His B1G predictions are in.
Steele has already said that he expects to see Michigan in the College Football Playoff this year, which essentially means he is banking on the Wolverines winning the conference — though it doesn’t technically have to be the case.
Here’s how Steele sees each division rounding out by the end of the year:
B1G East
- No. 1 — Michigan
- No. 2 — Ohio State
- T-No. 3 — Michigan State
- T-No. 3 — Penn State
- T-No. 5 — Indiana
- T-No. 5 — Maryland
- No. 7 — Rutgers
B1G West
- No. 1 — Nebraska
- No. 2 — Iowa
- No. 3 — Wisconsin
- T-No. 4 — Minnesota
- T-No. 4 — Northwestern
- T-No. 4 — Purdue
- No. 7 — Illinois
