Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson let his thoughts be known on what the right decision is in terms of postponing games due to the approaching Hurricane Ian.
Clawson said that he hopes the ACC will make the call to postpone the games, but he said “if they don’t, we will” in his press conference on Tuesday.
Wake Forest is set to travel to Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday for a contest with Florida State, though Hurricane Ian will likely be pounding Florida over the weekend. Many residents are already evacuating in anticipation of the powerful storm hitting this week.
The Hurricane has already impacted NFL, NHL and other college football games, including Florida’s game. The Gators play just 150 miles from the Seminoles.
As it stands, Florida State and Wake Forest will play their top-25 matchup Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
"We're not gonna travel down there & put anybody at risk. We're monitoring the weather. This is in the league's hands & FSU's hands and we would hope they make the right decision." @WakeFB HC Dave Clawson on Saturday game vs. FSU and Hurricane Ian. @WFMY #wfmysports @SilkyGilkey pic.twitter.com/YszfCBMglo
