Michigan ran one of the weirdest formations you’ll ever see

Jim Harbaugh has never been afraid to mix it up.
But what he did at the end of the first quarter was weird, even for him.
It wasn’t a Jabrill Peppers flea-flicker or a double-reverse. No, it was an I-formation, but not one you’ve probably ever seen before:

For what it’s worth, Michigan moved into a more typical two-back formation. This obviously would’ve resulted in a penalty.
De’Veon Smith nearly ran in for a score, but he was stopped at the one-yard line. What Michigan was trying to do with this is anyone’s guess. It did set up the game’s first touchdown.
As usual, Harbaugh is winning in his own weird way.
