Illinois has added another commitment to the 2022 recruiting class, bringing the total of players up to 11.
The latest addition came from Ashton Hollins, an athlete out of Lucedale, Mississippi. Hollins is rated as a three-star athlete by 247 Sports and the No. 137 ATH nationally for the class of 2022.

Hollins has played all over the field, including at quarterback, wide receiver, and on defense, but it sounds like the Illini view Hollins as a receiver at the next level. He is listed at 6-foot-4 and 170 lbs.
According to Jeremy Werner with Illini Inquirer, WRs coach George McDonald encountered Hollins at a camp in Alabama where McDonald saw his talent on display. Hollins ran a sub-4.4 40-yard dash to go with his long frame. With that kind of speed and size, Hollins certainly has game-breaking potential on the outside.
As things currently stand, the 2022 recruiting class for Illinois is up to 41st nationally.
