Illinois continues to hit the road hard on the in-state recruiting path, picking up another prospect Tuesday evening.
This time, the commitment came from linebacker James Kreutz. Kreutz has been a fast riser, taking an unofficial visit to the Illini at the end of November.
Over the weekend, Kreutz took an official visit and was rewarded with an offer Tuesday. It did not take long for Kreutz to accept:

Kreutz has gone unrated by the composite rankings, but 247 Sports rates him as a 3-star LB and No. 35 prospect out of Illinois for 2022. He played his high school ball at Loyola Academy in Wilmette.
Kreutz’s decision brings Illinois’ 2022 class up to 19 total commitments with 10 out of Illinois for the cycle.
