Illinois began the season with three straight wins vs. North Carolina A&T, Chicago State, and Ohio before a 82-69 loss vs. No. 2 Baylor.
Versatile junior guard Ayo Dosunmu is off to an excellent start, averaging 23.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. Dosunmu is shooting 50 percent overall and 47.1 percent from the 3-point line.
Meanwhile, sophomore center Kofi Cockburn is nearly averaging a double-double (13.0 points, 9.8 rebounds).
Illinois’ next game is at No. 6 Duke on Dec. 8 (8:30 p.m. CST/ESPN) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Duke leads the all-time series 5-2. This will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2007 Maui Invitational.
