Tyson Rooks just started playing high school football this past fall, but his upside and versatility saw him shoot up boards late in the recruiting process.
On Wednesday, the 3-star wideout and defensive back prospect committed to and signed with Illinois.

Rooks played both ways for his high school in Georgia, but, according to Werner, Illinois views him as a developmental safety. The Glynn Academy (Ga.) product possesses tremendous length at 6-foot-5. He’s a 3-star in the 247 Composite, and the 128th-ranked prospect in the talent-rich state of Georgia.
Rooks also competed in the high jump as a junior.
