Illinois football unleashed some new helmets to honor those who have served in the military. The Fighting Illini are donning a Veterans Day inspired helmet design for their game with Purdue.

The color scheme of the helmets will remain the same, but there will be a change to how the “Power I” looks. Instead of how it normally looks there will now be some stars and stripes on the inside of the I.

The back of the helmets will include a sticker with different branches of the U.S. Military on it.

Illinois has a chance to get back on track with a win over Purdue. The Fighting Illini can also avenge Week 10’s loss to Michigan State as well.

It won’t be easy though. The Boilermakers have had the Fighting Illini’s number in the last two meetings.

Kickoff from Champaign will be at noon ET on ESPN2. Can Illinois finally get Purdue of its back?
