Illinois freshman Zacharie Perrin, who made his collegiate debut against Indiana in January after joining the program in December, has left the Illini program, per reports.

Perrin played just 2 minutes in an Illini uniform. According to a report from Illinois beat writer Derek Piper, Perrin is returning to France.

Perrin signed with the Illini in June after originally committing, but spent the first semester at Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas.

It’s hard to point to why Perrin left the program, but he was not able to earn minutes to back up Coleman Hawkins or Dain Dainja. He was a member of the Illini for less than a month.
