Illinois lands commitment from DL out of Alabama for class of 2022

Illinois head coach Bret Bielema is slowly building his team through solid recruiting.
On Monday, Illinois secured its 16th commitment for the 2022 recruiting class from Hoover, Alabama in defensive linemen Terrell Jones. He measures in at 6-foot-5, 260 lbs.

While he is not ranked by 247Sports Composite, he is rated by 247Sports as a 3-star recruit, the No. 178 rated defensive lineman, and the No. 57 player from the state of Alabama. He is the first player from the state of Alabama to commit to Illinois for 2022.
As things currently stand, Illinois holds the No. 48 class nationally for the 2022 cycle. That group is currently headlined by 3-star wide receiver Shawn Miller.
