Illinois lands commitment from highly-touted OL out of Nebraska

Illinois added a key piece to its 2024 recruiting class on Thursday morning.

The Illini picked up a commitment from 3-star offensive lineman and Nebraska native Caleb Pyfrom.

Here’s his announcement:

Pyfrom picked Illinois over offers from programs like Penn State, Nebraska and Minnesota, amongst others. He initially picked up an offer from the Illini back in January.

Pyfrom is a significant addition for Illinois. He’s the No. 670 overall player and the No. 51 offensive tackle in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of Nebraska.

He attends Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska. He’s listed at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds.

Illinois now has 15 commitments in this cycle, including 3 on the offensive line. The group sits at No. 35 nationally, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
