Illinois landed a commitment from transfer offensive lineman Jack Badovinac on Thursday afternoon.

Badovinac previously played for Colgate.

Here’s his announcement:

Badovinac is an Illinois native. He attended Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois. He signed with Colgate in the class of 2017 and didn’t have any other major offers.

He’s now the seventh transfer addition for the Illini since Bret Bielema took over as head coach after last season.

Both of Illinois’ guard spots are up for grabs this offseason, and Badovinac figures to have a chance at winning one of those jobs. He only has one year of eligibility remaining, so he’ll make to make big strides this offseason.

“I can’t wait for this opportunity,” he told 247Sports’ Jeremy Werner. “It’s been a dream of mine for a long time. I can’t wait to get after it.”

Illinois’ spring game is on April 19.
